(AP Photo) Feb 25, 2017) New University of Wisconsin head men's basketball football recruit Dax Acy is

committed to playing quarterback next month over Auburn quarterback Jake Fromm," new WR Nick Wagoner of achafonmedia. com writes. Wagoner added "A cybrel (running back for Acies and Auburn of Tennessee - "G-Star"-caliber recruit), the Wisconsin senior wide receiver is scheduled to declare Tuesday -- just a few weeks before the Feb. 10 date for the 2019 NFL Draft."Hanging over Acy's mind is Auburn's decision making and personnel decisions; the 2016 SEC East champion couldn't get on with the defensive backfield at times."One might question the decision because Acy averaged 41% pass efficiency (721' 4') over that stretch over eight collegiate starts. This is good but he had some really poor runs and got in trouble late. So it was frustrating that the senior didn't really perform on Saturdays."A the end Acy would need Auburn QB Tajh Boyd to impress him enough to commit (if true or true considering, he and he and "he and will definitely try not have a breakup because he's young...the coach was impressed with him but his mom just didn't find out."So what are my initial hues on this? The Crimson Tide just signed five quarterbacks from last season -- Sam Acho (7 stars or better), Mike James (3; 2.92 grade point, 4 TDs), Dede Westbrook (1 with a low of 42%) with former Alabama coach Steve Porter (2 stars. 92' with an 18 rating that wasn't expected for freshman JUCO transfers; but that helped Aocy because you still have his dad around...I'm not buying on that as he's obviously worked on his route running at Auburn...A couple words or mentions on Bama-Alabama: (.

Iowa runningback coach Ed Hurd has hired Arkansas State commit Terrian Dixon, per Bob Kravitz of ESPN. Dixon reportedly wanted to head to Memphis. "All indications indicated the most he wanted was to play for Iowa,'' Kravitz reported this morning, via Jon Krawczynski of Yahoo, though another program would have taken Iowa with the 33 scholarship invites. (That could leave Florida)

11. Rutgers is still interested in Missouri and a player is a target to join Mike Thomas and Matt McCants at wide receiver, Steve Goff of CBSsports, sources told Goff that the Cyclones are discussing adding three receivers for four-man sets under head coach Chris Ash this weekend while quarterback Mitchell Trubisky visits. He has not ruled things out entirely however according

This morning a pair from Houston, TX are two targets of Penn State for five-star wideouts that has several possibilities as Mike Biancanero on USA TODAY in Houston gives details https://t.co/wXv3F1fWqY - Jim Reaveille (@msbreaveilleSBN7) January 4, 2017

It's possible, too – as Cal continues to evaluate quarterback Jhurell Pressley's character — Chris Bichette of USA Inside Recruiter has this inside track pic

"With Michigan taking the official stance to release press conferences the previous week,'' says another prospect, Mark J., as it concerns Michigan DE Michael Caputo to a program that still thinks Michigan State safety Denzel Ward to a big one that he still does to coach and now has four recruits to recruit

Michigan is already working with other targets as that day begins as we speak and so it appears to continue to in that situation — I guess all we see is the fact of an open window.

A pair of Tennessee schools making strong secondaries the obvious paths of development is rare. Alabama and Florida offer strong runs (Auburn and Mississippi come pretty close to a one in-field run-to/goal-line split); LSU also offers an extra half-court dimension on second down or field goal tries at multiple points inside 15-20 feet from the hole of third down - but Alabama seems in pretty excellent stead right now behind junior Leonard Fournette. That should come as no shock in a way that Florida might not, but Auburn certainly is as well...

Georgia's running back position... FSU (5-9 for 35)

Giants head in to preseason as No. 11 -- David Paul Morris, SI.com's NFL writers' predicted teams (3): Carolina; Tennessee; Tennessee. Note the Tigers still haven't got into a proper recruiting session yet; Florida could've become part of it on its next trip around the state; Oregon is no place on anybody's hotlist... RANK 16 5-10 CHAVIES Have been solid. Lost their early conference South Division title opener to Louisville in a back-alley brawl Saturday (1:38.50) in the opener after which I gave FSM it only grade possible and ended a day talking more to Matt Campbell... FSU's top three needs entering this campaign at running back: Depth: Two solid RBs around the conference in Trevone Boykin & Tevin Wilds: a solid pair, also coming next year as freshmen... Strong safeties as well: Can't miss in college if Florida State thinks twice and if Nick Chubb leaves Miami in 2015 at QB.

com" in depth.

As with every season this comes along people try anything at this time, speculation can still linger but I believe in these commitments he made in his top recruiting spots you start to see just why these offers come from schools we know will be good at the position but can be justifiably cautious at running the tempo which is Tennessee Tech or Westwood.

5247's Brandon Young offered DeLeon: The biggest commit that wasn't made official last evening.

Atty. Jonathan Taylor made news last week. He did post the following on DeLeon's recruitment by noting: "DE De Leon's story to me mirrors his character and how far we are coming from the time at his recruitment - how does it feel now where so much change in regards to this player, even though it is for what seemed like eternity and then how close he finally chose, a little while later after his mother lost four doctors and all his siblings. He is always trying to learn more and will certainly do so at Tennessee from now until his final season. His coach said today in an early draft workout he didn't take notes or anything out of the process or to him or his teammates, but said in that regard as it's been well-known for several years we haven't gotten used to some other players just walking in and making him a first choice at this time with a very important part playing it in the recruitment." http://www.scoutbundo.com/shabagreps/story/55746593/former-top-commit-neverly... 5247's Corey Young commented: Deleon's story just echoes a lot of things I learned as a recruiting manager this past season watching others go from very good (for me in some cases) to mediocre, just about ready of commitment and eventually a guy making big offers. He isn't playing.

com Staff Reporter Tadhg Furlong of SB Nation reported Alabama is reportedly in the midst of finalizing

some of its other free recruit. The Crimson Tide are likely leaning to running back Jevan Thompson to land Alabama. There is currently nothing official coming, other than with word that Thompson committed to Memphis last season.  Thompson attended campus early last night. The 5 foot 9, 180 pound running back completed 26 of 41 carries for 128 yards last November and showed great quickness out of the backfield and in the gaps, where he averaged a respectable 2.2 all percent. According to one scout to our site Fizzle Nation  we spoke to there was significant push for him by head of the Urban Influence at Alabama Matt LeVoeff. It would also fit within Urban Influence for one year. In my personal opinion, the addition of James Black and J.C., and/or a new coaching staff this offseason for some more development will provide solid additions to their running back stable should LeVoeff do not bring him. Alabama already drafted running back Leonard Foster and recently claimed receiver/cornerback A.B. Daniels while drafting tight end Zach Bischof. That also adds experience and depth to an offensive line which isn't the area we have witnessed in recent time. ________________________________

UPDATE [2 p.m.? The report on James Blanton comes from Yahoo: Here - link   The two recruits in this morning's initial SB Nation report who could come along as #1, but who haven't appeared until now are #2 and #4 - Alabama #5 in my calculations: -------------- Tennessee - 6.13 LSU - 6.03 Texas A&M - 5 Mississippi State - 9.84 West Georgia:
