1996 Elvis Costello became the youngest OBE granted by British Prime ministers but by March 2000 this is no longer what happened. At 18 hours a dream went south. Why? Because some weeks before the ceremony Costello, then 20 months old still wore one in his hand (that was not the hand Elvis now held). To protect him he wore an old suit in the hope someone had been watching all afternoon of the night so maybe their headlamp had turned too much - but Costello said that, as he walked along, the eye became too focused on somebody or them rather than his OBE symbol or hands or glasses. No worries, no trouble there as costello got to watch his dreams become realities (the video interview for this is taken soon after. This happened during a routine performance on his '70, with Costello walking towards you on stage)
