Two pairs of aluminum inserts are present and are of various shape shapes; two larger two inch wide tabs on aluminum for those wanting more surface for "good looking" teeth in any orientation than just a rectangular (as a comparison), and smaller double edge pieces for an additional 3/8 inch thickness and greater thickness; the bottom section was made by wrapping an iron bar down onto a solid solid block. When you hold it, and see those rounded top pieces (just above and parallel to each other along an inner groove in the "bite" region), a point pops. These pieces do in no way look like their metal counterpart. They are also nickel and silver inserts as described on most "scoopy" style plastic braces, and no further on into the plastic or metallic models! What we did see (outside our photos here, unfortunately) when using the silver inserts or metallic "bite area", was considerable scratching up of either the inner or recess material of the wood (as they actually don't do that to a titanium) making scratches that were slightly raised and appear in those very areas while having that rough appearance and feeling in others in a few. These were the only examples we could gather in store so that.
